Audio Design
Sound design can be one of the most important things for a game. It helps provide a different sense of realism in a game.
For our game, we chose to make our sounds very aesthetic and atmospheric. We are drawing from our environment to help build it and bring it to life. One of the biggest items was all of our objects in game. Objects such as a door and drawer have to have animations and sounds that line up with that of real life. This was a big struggle due to having very minute details having to be captured at just the right moment.
There are more sounds that can bring a game to life such as background music. Our background music is based around eerie atmospheric environments. They are very much in the background, adding to the environment without drawing too much attention to it. This then leads into building the sound profile, combining in different sounds at different points to help keep things fresh and new to the player.
Overall, our decisions helped bring our game to life. The decisions we made may not directly fit your game, but once you have an idea, storyboard, and build off of that idea.
